Northern Visions is a co-operative and non-profit distributing organisation providing resources, training and advice to independent film and video makers, community organisations, artists, students and individuals to produce, distribute and exhibit their work.
Northern Visions can offer subsidised rates for non-profit work depending on the nature of the project. Please be prepared to give full details of  your work in our Subsidy application form.
A wide range of skills are available to: local companies, educational establishments, community groups, arts organisations, and members of the public.
We offer advice, information and support from a staff with expert technical skills and wide experience in independent and community film and video and the opportunity to work with others and a forum within which to discuss your film and video work.
Northern Visions is committed to working for accessible and democratic institutions in the media.

TRAINING: Our courses are established to provide affordable, professional training in a creative environment, with maximum hands-on experience. We deliver introductory video workshops which can be tailored to suit your group. Write for details.
EQUIPMENT HIRE: From domestic, industrial to broadcast video equipment are available.
PRODUCTION: A full production service is available, from script development through to the final presentation and duplication.

Hire Rates

All hirers must be able to demonstrate ability to use equipment competently.
All equipment hire is subject to Northern Visions terms and conditions, full details of which are available on request. Any booking implies acceptance of these terms and conditions.
Weekend Rate: Collected Friday 4pm Returned Monday 10am charged 2 Days.
The hiring department is closed Saturday & Sunday
A RATE (commercial): All commercial work, pop promos, weddings, showreels, corporate and television.
B RATE (Grant aided): Artists, students, community groups and nonprofit organisations with some funding.
C RATE (Unsupported): Full time students and unemployed funding their own work. Video artists and community groups without institutional budgets.
