There’s another battle for the streets of Belfast
- it’s the kids v the rest. N.Ireland has some of the highest road
accident statistics for children in western Europe. The demand for safe,
high quality playspace is seen from the child's point of view in this half
hour documentary.
A group of 8 to 14 year olds did the research, wrote the script, they present the film and did most of the camera and sound. ‘Where Do I Play?’ is their film. |
| The film is divided into segments dealing with issues
ranging from the S.P.I.C.E. quality rating for
play environments to the battle for the street between children and cars.
It uses drama, personal play profiles, song and graphics to drive home
the message that play is important and should be given a much higher priority
in our society.
This film is a valuable tool for training, lobbying and planning as well as being entertaining for children, parents and professionals alike. It is an important contribution to the growing demand for recognition of children's rights. |
