Every play situation can be judged and given a spice rating 
 

ocial	Does the play situation involve playing with others? Are the children themselves able to determine their social interactions?
hysical	How much physical activity is involved? Does the play situation stretch the children's physical abilities?
ntellectual	Do the children have to think in order to participate in the play situation?
reative	Does the play situation require much imagination? Do the children get to make things or make things up?
motional	Does the play situation allow much expression of feelings?
