GLENCAIRN
The former Glencairn estate covered over one hundred acres. Two houses, Glencairn and Fernhill, were positioned on hilltops either side of a sloping valley, whilst a third house, Glendivis, stood between the Ballygomartin River and Glencairn Road. Local historian Bobby Foster and Glencairn residents take a look at Glencairn estate and the times it has seen.

CLIFTON STREET CEMETERY
The Cemetery is the final resting place of many of Belfast’s forefathers, as well as some of its wayward sons. Everyone from mill owners, shipbuilders, paupers, thieves and political rebels, rest within its walls. Hear about some of the famous people buried here, and the lengths to which some people went, to protect themselves from the ‘bodysnatchers!’

EDENDERRY
Built between 1866 and 1911 by the linen manufacturer John Shaw Brown, Edenderry is an excellent example of a semi-planned industrial community. Now a conservation area, it retains the charm and features of a nineteenth century mill village. Meet some of the people who worked to make John Shaw Brown's linen some of the finest in the world.

HUGH THOMSON: COLERAINE’S FAMOUS SON
Born in Coleraine in 1860, Thomson was a talented illustrator and up to  2006 over 700 of his illustrations lay in an attic until they were acquired by  the Heritage Lottery Fund & Coleraine Borough Council. The story of a local boy whose illustrations gave form to personalities described by Dickens, Thackeray, Jane Austin, Goldsmith, George Eliot & Shakespeare.

WAVES FROM RATHLIN
Over 100 years ago, Guglielmo Marconi demonstrated successfully he ending of signals over a distance without wire, hence the term wireless.' Before this time, ships had made themselves known to shore stations by a hoist of flags. It was realised in more recent times that an engineer by the name of Edwin Glanville was the unsung hero of the achievement.

AN IRISH WALK
The An Droichead Walking Group was formed to create an opportunity for people to speak the Irish language in an informal setting. Today, the group goes on walks all over Ireland and NvTv caught up with them on one of their trips.
