I 2005 bhunaigh an Ciste Craoltoireacht Gaeilge (ILBF), scéim óiliúna craoltóireachta i gcomhar le Northern Ireland Screen agus Northern Visions/NvTv.

Thug an tionscnamh cistiúcháin deis do chláracha trí mheán na Gaeilge le bheith craolta ar staisiún teilifís pobail.

Chomh maith leis sin cur an cistriúchan scéim traenála ar fáil ar feadh bliana. Thug an scéim seo deis do na foghlaimeoirí cláracha Gaeilge a dhéanamh agus a bheith craolta ar NvTv.

Tháinig an Ciste Craoltóireachta Gaeilge amach as tiomántas an rialtas do Chomhaontú Aoine an Chéasta.

I 2004 thug an Roinn Cultúir Ealaíon agus Fóillíochta (DCAL) freagracht an Chiste do Northern Ireland Screen.

Cuirtear beirt foghlaimeoir in aghaidh na bliana chuig Northern Visions. Faigheann na foghlaimeoirí oiliúint i ngach gné de léiriúcháin teilifíse.

Saothraíonn na foghlaimeoirí pá íosta reachtúil ón Chiste Craoltóireachta.

Thosaigh an scéim oiliúna i mí Eanáir 2006 agus faoi láthair cuireadh deich foghlaimeoir san iomlán chuig Northern Visions.

Chomh maith leis na foghlaimeoirí atá lonnaithe le Northern Visions, cuireann an Ciste Craoltóireachta Gaeilge ar a laghad deich foghlaimeoir eile ar socrúchán fostaíochta le comhlachtaí atá ag obair sna hearnálacha léiriúcháin neamhspleácha.

D’fhreastail neart de na foghlaimeoirí ar dhiancheardlanna a chuir Northern Visions ar fáil.   Mhair an cheardlann lá nó dhó agus pléadh cúrsaí ceamara, fuaime agus eagraíocht digiteach

The Irish Language Broadcast Fund (ILBF) created a broadcasting and training scheme in conjunction with Northern Visions/NvTv in 2005.

The initiative ring fenced funding for Irish language TV programmes to be produced and broadcast on local television.

The initiative also provided for funding for a year long training scheme during which trainees produce Irish language TV programmes for broadcast on NvTv.

The Irish Language Broadcast Fund arose out of a commitment by the government in the Good Friday Agreement in 1998.

Northern Ireland Screen was assigned responsibility for the fund in 2004 by the Department of Culture, Arts & Leisure (DCAL).

Under the year long scheme, two trainees are placed with Northern Visions and trained in all aspects of television production.

The trainees are paid the statutory minimum wage for the duration of the scheme by the Irish Language Broadcast Fund.

The training scheme began in January 2006 and to date ten trainees have been placed with Northern Visions.

As well as the Northern Visions trainees, the ILBF places ten other trainees on placements with companies in the independent production sector.
Several of these trainees have also benefited from one and two day intensive workshops in camera, sound and digital editing at Northern Visions.
The ILBF is administered by Northern Ireland Screen.
