URBAN II : Giving the Community the Initiative
The Urban II 'Completion Ceremony' celebrated a collection of community initiatives that succeeded in improving life for the people of North Belfast, as well as the environment in which they live. The programme assisted over 200 projects with £12.4 million of funding.


GETTING TO GRIPS WITH RACISM
A programme outlining issues surrounding racism: reasons for the rise of immigration and racism in Northern Ireland; the importance of immigrants for the economy; the role of the police in dealing with racist incidents; criticism of the police from multi-cultural groups; the activities of local groups organising against racism and the support and advice on offer from the various multi-cultural organisations.
PEACE IN THE EAST

Residents and community representatives have been learning about their human rights, thanks to the work by PPRP - The Participation and Practice of Rights Project. started to make Human Rights a lot more relevant.

International conference organised by the Human Rights Consortium gathering together a range of local and international human rights experts to examine the recent report of the Bill Of Rights Forum which was published in March 2008.

Al-Nisa, a Muslim Women's organisation, recently launched a new information pack which helps combat stereotypes and inform the wider community of the rights of Muslim women. This episode looks at the reasons behind the conflict and how they have impacted on the latest wave of youth violence at interfaces. Teny Oded Gross, an outreach worker with Street Gangs in Providence USA talks about his experiences in Boston and his time spent in Belfast on a visit with former gang members.
INTERFACES 3
Part three of a four part series looking at Interfaces in Belfast. This episode examines the role of ex-combatants in helping to build and maintain peace, particularly at interfaces. Interaction Belfast, Inner East Forum, EPIC and Coiste na nIarchimí all discuss their work with ex-prisoners, as well as politicians and local community workers who reflect on the importance of dialogue and co-operation in moving on.
CHILDREN OF THE FALLOUT
With hundreds of tourists passing through the Lower Shankill in Belfast each day, local people are under constant observation. They are looked at but not spoken to…. so resident Noel Lemon decided to buy a video camera and film them as they filmed the locals. He wanted to document how the tourists and the residents viewed each other.

INJURED ON THAT DAY
The injured of the troubles call for recognition with the release of a new book documenting their stories. The book was launched by Terry Waite at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast which tended to many of the wounded during the conflict.
