Ballysillan Youth Forum/Ligoniel Community Centre*

The Ballysillan group works well together and there are some useful skills and abilities developing. The practice shoot will be a series of interviews in various locations around the area on the battle of the sexes. They developed a series of questions and discussed an appropriate style for the film. Each member has an area to research to build up background information about Ballysillan.

The girls group who meet at Ligoniel Community Centre are beginning work on the project. There will be an evening session next week and there seems to be a lot of enthusiasm for the idea.

On both sides* there have been warnings from the youth workers that integrated cross-community work with both groups would be inadvisable especially at this time. Given the fall out from the Holy Cross protest and the generally uncertain atmosphere in North Belfast, the aim of the project is to build up video as a possible means of communication between young people from opposing communities.
