There weren't as many young people this time. I have since discovered that three of the girls were practising for Diwali celebrations.

The new venue is wonderful. There is so much light and space and the young people seemed to really enjoy it. There are a few more distractions for them - especially the younger ones, with the play-room and the lift.

The kids received their diaries and they seemed excited about this. Both Angela and I encouraged them to record their ideas, to record what sort of things are going on in their worlds, what sort of things they are talking about with their friends.

When we are talking to the kids about the film, I think we have to be quite imaginative with our vocabulary. The word 'documentary' really seems to be off putting for the younger ones. They think it is boring. I also think the younger ones are not very likely to watch the news and so on, whatever ideas they come up with I think will be much closer to their own experiences (which should be fine). Perhaps the older ones might tap into the news more.
