1st March 2002 Today the group did their first official shooting day for the project. We decided to film in Children's Express to reduce the pressure on them and it also meant that if it all went horribly wrong, we could return and do it all over again. But the fact is that it all went plan and they were able to get great pictures and great sound. All of the footage useable. The group worked really well together and the atmosphere was relaxed and confident. They were able to control the environment and were alert to all that was happening around them. They worked well as a team and definitely learnt a great deal from the previous weeks practise shoot. Dean
8th March 2002 Today the group had a look at what they had shot the previous week and discussed its strengths and weaknesses. Overall they were quite pleased with their results. They then spent the rest of the afternoon learning in more detail about capturing and editing their material. Some of what we covered was repetition for Connor, which meant that he was able to help the rest of the group. At the end of the day the group was able to capture, file and edit a sequence. I am quite confident that Connor and Gareth in particular, will be able to edit the majority of the film by themselves. Dean
